1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. butter
3 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1 tbsp. warm water
1/2 tsp. salt
3 c. sifted flour

Cream sugar and butter together. Add eggs and mix thoroughly. Add vanilla, soda and salt; mix well. Add flour, a little at a time. Roll dough with plenty of flour to avoid sticking. Cut out cookies with favorite cookie cutter. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
