JUMBO RAISINS COOKIES 
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. water
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 c. + 1 tbsp. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
2 c. raisins, boiled

Sift together the first 7 ingredients. Boil raisins in water for 10 minutes and cool. Cream shortening and sugar and beat in eggs, one at a time and add vanilla and raisins and nuts and sifted dry ingredients. Drop by tablespoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
