JUMBO RAISIN COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. allspice
1 c. nuts

Boil 2 cups raisins and 2 cups water for 5 minutes. Cool. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Add vanilla.
