“OVEN BAKED BARBECUED RIBS” IS IN:

OVEN BAKED BARBECUED RIBS
1 small onion or 1/2 medium
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. olive oil
1 tsp. red wine vinegar
1 cup water or beef broth
1/3 cup ketchup
1 tsp. chili powder
3 tbsp. dry mustard
1 1/2 to 3 lbs. ribs

Place ribs in a large, flat pan. Season with salt and pepper, and a little garlic powder on both sides.

Roast in oven at 350°F for about 1 hour. Drain any grease that has accumulated. Cover the roasted ribs with sauce and bake for an additional 45 minutes or until the ribs are tender, basting occasionally as needed.

Oven Baked Barbecued Ribs

I didn't make this yet,but need to say - the best way to make ribs is to remove the thin membrane on the underside of the ribs first. It sometimes is hard to do. Find the membrane and slowly pull it off. This will make a difference always. I do not make ribs without doing this first. Please try it. I will try this recipe but remove the thin membrane first. This allows all the fat to drip off instead of staying inside the ribs.

I added 2 tsp liquid smoke and a dash of hot sauce we like a little kick, and since they aren't bbq'd I thought the liquid smoke would enhance the flavours! Yum

Good recipe. Maybe will try adding balsamic vinegar instead of red wine vinegar.

This recipe was delicious!! I love the Mustard base in it. They only changes I made were I added 1 tablespoon of brown sugar and I put the ribs in a roaster and covered them for the 1st hour then for the 45 minutes, I left the cover off.

FOR DEREK THE COP -- Bravo for being a "Real Man" and learning to cook and help your wife and new baby!! Sides with BBQ Ribs are rice as you did, coleslaw, or any green salad, or we like potato salad or macaroni salad. Down South and in Texas they can serve Cornbread but a good French Bread is always great to sop up the juices. :-) Best of luck with cooking and Congratulations on a new baby,

Derek, this goes great with baked potatoes, baked beans, cole slaw, salad, or mac and cheese. You can't go wrong with any of it.

Tried this recipe for the first time last night, very easy to make. The taste was different from other BBQ sauces I have had, but very tasty. The color was orange instead of the usual BBQ sauce, next time I might add either some molasses or brown sugar to darken it up a bit, maybe a dash of honey. Overall, I would try this again.
