COCOA FUDGE | |
2/3 c. cocoa 1/8 tsp. salt 1/4 c. butter 3 c. sugar 1 1/2 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla Combine cocoa, sugar and salt in a large saucepan. Add milk gradually. Mix thoroughly. Bring mixture to a "bubbly" boil on high heat stirring continuously. Turn to medium heat and continue to boil the mixture without stirring until it reaches soft ball stage. Cooking time is about 1 hour. Remove pan from heat, add butter and vanilla to the mixture. DO NOT STIR. Cool to 180 degrees. Beat until fudge thickens and loses some of its gloss. Add nuts if desired and pour into a greased 8x8 pan. Cool. Cut in squares. |
