CHERRY BARS 
1 c. butter, softened
1 3/4 c. sugar
4 eggs
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 can cherry pie filling

Mix all together, except cherry filling. spread 2/3 of dough in jelly roll pan. Spread cherry filling on top, then drop rest of dough on by spoonsful. Bake at 325 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Drizzle with powdered sugar frosting.

I make these all the time!!! Very Good! The recipe, I have, has almond flavoring added into the cherry pie filling.
