PEANUT BUTTER OATMEAL BARS | |
1 c. flour 1 c. oatmeal 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. brown sugar 1 egg 1/3 c. peanut butter 1/4 c. milk 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips 1/4 c. sifted powdered sugar 2 tbsp. peanut butter 2 to 3 tbsp. milk Grease a 13x9x2" baking pan. Combine flour, oats, soda and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Beat butter for 30 seconds; add sugars, beat until fluffy. Add eggs, the 1/3 cup peanut butter, the 1/4 cup milk and vanilla, beat well. Add dry ingredients to the beaten mixture, beating until smooth. Spread mixture into pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes. Immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over top and put back in oven for 1 to 2 minutes or until chips are softened. Then spread evenly over top of bars. Cool. Combine the powdered sugar and the 2 tablespoons peanut butter. Gradually add enough milk to make of drizzle consistency. Drizzle over the top of chocolate. Let stand several hours before cutting into bars. |
