MOLASSES COOKIES OR STACK CAKE 
1 1/2 c. molasses
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 1/2 sticks butter
3 eggs, lg., beaten
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. baking powder
6 c. plain flour

Melt butter. Cream with sugar and molasses. Add beaten eggs.

Sift together dry ingredients. Add to butter mixture alternately with milk. Add more flour if needed for rolling consistency. Chill dough. Roll to 1/4 inch. Cut cookies. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 350 degrees.

Makes an 8 layer stack cake and 6 dozen or more cookies.
