MOLASSES AND APPLE STACK CAKE 
2 c. Martha White self rising flour
3 tsp. allspice
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
3/4 c. molasses
1 c. boiling water

Mix flour and allspice together and set aside. Mix in large mixing bowl 1/2 cup shortening and 1/2 cup brown sugar, beat. Then add 2 eggs well beaten, 3/4 cup molasses and 1/4 cup dry ingredients. Beat that, then add rest of dry ingredients and 1 cup boiling water. Beat well and bake in greased and floured pans until done, 30 minutes. Let cool, put stacks together with apples. Cook apples, add sugar and allspice to taste or use ginger. Delicious anytime but especially at Christmas.
