MOLASSES APPLE STACK CAKE 
5 tsp. shortening
1 c. plus 2 tsp. sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 c. molasses
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/8 tsp. ginger
6 c. flour
1/4 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
Sweetened applesauce

Knead dough out on lightly floured surface. Roll 1/8 inch thick; cut into circles the size of a small plate. Place circles on baking sheet. Bake at 470 degrees until done. Then spread applesauce between layers.
