4 c. self-rising flour
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. shortening
2 tsp. vanilla

Mix like biscuits; pat out in greased and floured pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes or until light brown.

APPLES:

2 1/2 c. dried apples

Cook. Add: 2 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 2 1/2 tsp. cloves 1 tsp. allspice
