CHOCOLATE HOT CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 stick butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. water
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

Mix sugar and flour in large bowl. Bring to a boil - butter, cocoa, shortening, and water and pour over sugar and flour mixture. Before mixing add buttermilk, soda, cinnamon, vanilla, and eggs. Heat oven to 375 degrees and bake in large deep sheet pan (greased and floured) until center springs back.

FROSTING:

1 stick butter
2 tbsp. cocoa
3 tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 box powdered sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Boil together - butter, cocoa, and milk. Pour into bowl and add vanilla and enough powdered sugar to spread. Add nuts if desired. Spread frosting on cake right form oven while hot.
