SMOKY MEAT BALLS | |
2 lb. lean ground beef 1/4 c. chopped onions 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/4 garlic salt 1/2 c. fine cracker crumbs 1 egg 1/4 c. milk 2 tbsp. salad oil 1 (1 lb. 2 oz.) bottle smoky type barbeque sauce 1 c. water Mix together until lightly blended, the ground beef, onions, salt, pepper, garlic salt, cracker crumbs, egg and milk. Shape into meat balls the size of walnuts. Brown on all sides in hot salad oil. In large pan, mix together until blended, the barbeque sauce and water. Place browned meat balls in sauce and simmer for 15 minutes. Pour into chafing dish and serve with small picks. Makes about 8 dozen meat balls. May toast top of bread cut into various shapes and place meat balls on top of bread shapes for variation. |
