STUFFED MUSHROOMS 
1 lb. med. mushrooms (about 3 doz.)
3 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. finely chopped green pepper
1/4 c. finely chopped onion
1-1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/4 tsp. turmeric
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 tbsp. butter

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Wash, trim and dry mushrooms. Remove from stems and chop stems finely to make 1/3 cup. Melt 3 tablespoons butter in skillet, cook and stir. Chop mushroom stems, green pepper, and onion in butter about 5 minutes or until tender; remove from heat and add remaining ingredients except mushroom caps and 1 tablespoon butter. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in shallow baking dish, fill mushroom caps with stuffing mixture, and place mushroom filled side up. Bake 15 minutes, then broil 3 to 4 minutes.
