ORANGE-SLICE BARS 
1 lb. candy orange slices
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 lb. (3 c.) light brown sugar
4 eggs, slightly beaten
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Cut orange slices in small pieces with scissors dipped in cold water. Add to flour and salt. Add remaining ingredients, and mix well. Batter will be shiny and sticky. Spread in 2 greased 9x9x2 inch pans. Bake in moderate 350 degree oven for about 45 minutes. Cool in pans. Cut in 1x3 inch bars or in squares and roll in granulated sugar, if desired.
