HOMETOWN'S FAVORITE ALFREDO SAUCE | |
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter (no substitutes!) 1 pint (2 cups) heavy whipping cream 1/4 tsp. minced garlic 1/4 tsp. sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 2 dashes ground black pepper 2 dashes cayenne pepper 1 dash nutmeg 1 3/4 cups grated Parmesan/Romano cheese mixture Melt butter on medium-medium/low heat. Add cream and seasonings. DO NOT add cheese yet. Whisk on medium to medium/low heat for 25 to 30 minutes until cream coats the whisk. Remove from heat and whisk in the grated cheese. Serve over linguine or fettuccine noodles. Note: If you put your water onto boil at the same time you start to melt the butter, your noodles should time out at the same time your sauce does. When doubling/tripling recipe, add approximately 10 minutes of cooking time for each time you multiply the recipe. Submitted by: Amanda Trask |
