1 c. cornmeal
1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. water
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. oil

Sift baking powder into flour and cornmeal. Put soda in buttermilk and stir until it changes sound. Pour into mixture. Add water, egg, and oil. Stir and mix thoroughly.

Pour half of mixture onto a hot waffle griddle which has been sprayed with Pam. Bake until golden brown. Serve with butter and applesauce.
