MOTHER'S ANISE COOKIES | |
1 c. sugar 1 c. shortening (Crisco - butter) 1 c. sour cream, mixed with 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. molasses About 3 1/2 c. flour 1 1/2 tsp. anise oil, purchase at drug store In large bowl, mix sugar, shortening together until light and fluffy. Add molasses and beat well. Then add sour cream and anise oil. Then add flour a little at a time until consistency to knead. Put in refrigerator to cool about 2 hours. Roll out and cut a little at a time. Bake in 350 degree oven about 15 minutes. Makes 6 dozen cookies. Decorate if desired. |
