APPLE PIE AND PIE CRUST 
4 1/2 c. sliced apples (Mcintosh or Golden Delicious)
3/4 c. white sugar
1 tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 c. shortening
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. milk
2 tbsp. vinegar

Mix sugar, flour, salt and cinnamon in measuring cup. Add to sliced apples in large bowl and stir to coated. Next add lemon juice to apple mixture, stir and put in unbaked pie crust. Cover with top crust, seal edges well. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake in 375 degree oven for about 50 minutes.

PIE CRUST:

Cut 1 cup shortening into 2 cups of flour and 1 teaspoon salt. Combine 1/4 cup milk and 2 tablespoons vinegar. Add to the flour mixture, stir with a fork until dough sticks together. Makes 1 double crust pie.
