AUNT LORRAINE'S CARAMEL CORN | |
1 c. popcorn Nuts of choice 1 c. butter 2 c. brown sugar, packed firm 1 c. corn syrup 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla extract Pop popcorn; mix with nuts and place in pans in a warm oven (250 degrees). Cook butter, sugar, and syrup in pan over medium heat, stirring constantly, until begins to bubble. Let bubble for 5 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat. Add baking soda and vanilla extract to syrup, stirring quickly. Pour over popcorn/nuts, mixing well and place in 250 degree oven for 1 hour. Mix up every 20 minutes. When done, dump on wax paper to cool. |
