BROWN SUGAR PORK CHOPS | |
I like to use a large deep roasting pan, because of the syrup that is produced during the cooking process. 3 to 5 center cut pork chops (thicker cuts work best) bone-in or boneless 1 to 2 large Vidalia onions brown sugar ketchup (Hunts) Preheat oven to 375°F. Clean the chops in cold water; allow to drain. Slice the onions so that you have 1 1/2 to 2-inch slices, DON'T SEPARATE THE RINGS! Line the pan with heavy duty or regular foil, place chops at least 2-inches apart. Use large (bigger than a tablespoon) spoon to add packed heaps of BROWN SUGAR to top of chops, right in the center. Note: I find it easiest to leave the brown sugar in the bag, dip the spoon in, get a heaping spoonful, the with the outside of the bag squeeze the brown sugar on the spoon to pack it. Next place one of the sliced onions on TOP of the BROWN SUGAR. PRESS DOWN FIRMLY, Lastly, squeeze a moderate amount of ketchup on top of the onion. Bake uncovered at 375°F until pork is at least 160°F degrees. This is usually 35 to 45 minutes. Serves 3 to 5. Submitted by: Dallas King |
