BREAD AND BUTTER CUCUMBER
PICKLES
 
4 qts. sliced cucumbers (do not peel)
6 med. sliced onions
2 green peppers
1/3 c. salt
3 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
2 tbsp. mustard seed
3 c. vinegar

Slice cucumbers thin. Add sliced onions and chopped peppers. Mix well. Add salt. Cover and let stand with cracked ice for 3 hours. Drain well. Combine remaining ingredients. Pour over cucumber mixture. Heat to boiling point. Seal in hot jars. Makes 4 pints.
