FLUFFY CORN BREAD 
1/3 c. sugar
3 tbsp. shortening
1 egg
1 c. warm milk
1 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. cornmeal

Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and beat. Sift flour, baking powder and salt, and mix with cornmeal. Add alternately with milk. Bake in greased 8 x 8 inch pan for 25 minutes at 375 degrees.
