2 c. flour
1 c. salt
1 tbsp. powdered alum
3 tbsp. mineral oil
1-1/2 c. cold water
Food coloring

Mix dry ingredients in large, heavy saucepan. Combine water, oil and coloring. Add liquid to dry ingredients and blend. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is thick like bread dough. Remove from heat and when it is cool enough to handle, knead dough thoroughly. It will become smooth and elastic. Store in plastic bag at room temperature.
