ANISETTE BISCOTTIS 
4 eggs
2/3 c. shortening (or butter)
1 c. sugar
2 2/3 c. flour
1/3 c. water
2 heaping tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. Anise extract
1 c. chopped almonds (optional)

Beat eggs, shortening, sugar and water together. Mix in flour, baking powder and salt. Add flavoring. Spoon onto cookie sheet or jelly roll pan in 2 rows, 2 1/2 inches wide, 2 inches high and 8-10 inches long.
