AUNT JANE'S BISCOTTI DI NATALE 
1/2 c. butter
2/3 c. sugar
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. anise seed
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 1/4 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1/3 c. chopped almonds
3/4 c. candied fruit
2 c. powdered sugar
2 tbsp. milk

In a large bowl cream butter, sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Add anise seeds and extract. Sift 2 cups flour with baking powder and salt. Beat into mixture until blended. Mix remaining flour with almonds and fruit, stir into batter. Cover bowl and refrigerate for 1 hour. Grease 15 1/2 x 12 inch cookie sheet. Drop overlapping teaspoon of dough. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool 5 minutes, cut diagonally into 1/2 inch slices. Ice with powdered sugar mixed with milk to make a glaze.
