GOOD RED CABBAGE 
2 tbsp. bacon drippings
1/4 c. brown sugar, packed
1/4 c. vinegar
1/4 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
1 sm. onion stick with 4 to 5 whole cloves
4 c. red cabbage, shredded
2 c. apples, peeled & sliced

In a medium skillet, heat bacon grease, sugar, vinegar and water; add onion and cabbage and apples slices; cover and cook over low heat until done. Then discard onion. Serve with pork. Serves average family of 4 or 6.
