HOMEMADE DUMPLINGS 
1 1/2 c. flour
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. milk
2 tsp. baking powder
3 tbsp. shortening

Cut shortening into sifted flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir milk in only until blended. Drop by teaspoonfuls into chicken broth or stew. Cook slowly 10 minutes uncovered, then 10 minutes covered.
