1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. peanut butter
3 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream together shortening, both sugars, eggs and vanilla. Stir in peanut butter. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Blend into cream mixture. Drop on ungreased cookie sheet. Press criss-cross pattern with fork dipped in flour.

Bake at 350°F for about 10 minutes, until light brown.
