2 c. shortening
2 c. packed brown sugar
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
2 c. peanut butter
5 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt
1 c. salted peanuts, chopped (optional)

Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Cream sugars, shortening, vanilla, eggs and peanut butter. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Drop by teaspoon on ungreased baking sheets.

Bake at 350°F for 12 to 14 minutes, depending on size.

Yields about 10 dozen.
