OLD FASHIONED GINGERBREAD | |
1 c. shortening 1/2 c. sugar 1 egg, beaten 2 1/2 c. flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. ginger 1/2 tsp. cloves 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. sorghum 1 c. hot water Cream shortening and sugar; add beaten egg. Mix dry ingredients together. Mix sorghum with hot water. Add dry ingredients and sorghum mixture alternately to creamed shortening mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Can be served warm with sweetened whipped cream on top. |
