RAISIN APPLESAUCE CAKE 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 c. shortening
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. light molasses
1 (17 oz.) can applesauce
1/2 c. finely chopped nuts

Sift flour with soda, salt, and spices. Cream shortening and sugar gradually and beat until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, add molasses and beat thoroughly. Stir in applesauce and nuts. Gradually blend in sifted dry ingredients. Pour batter into 2 wax paper-lined greased 9 inch baking pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until done.

ICING:

1/3 c. butter
1/3 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. light cream (Pet milk)

Bring to a full boil over medium heat. Remove from heat and gradually stir in a box of powdered sugar. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1/4 cup chopped nut and 1 cup raisins.
