I tried this recipe and I really don't think that the nutmeg is necessary. It's really over powering.

I make this pie every year, for the past 3 years. It's easy, and there's not so many ingredients that I go broke trying to make it! I buy the Pillsbury 2 pack pie crust in the cookie dough section and use the 2nd one to cut into strips and weave on top of the pie before I bake. It LOOKS amazing (and really hard to accomplish), I also sprinkle a smashed up granola bar and drizzle caramel and butterscotch on top. I think it's the one thing my mother in law (who is an amazing cook) can't tell me I do wrong! I always end up having to make at least 4 pies each Thanksgiving because my friends and family fight over them :-D

Violet, thanks for this awesome recipe!
