GERMAN CHOCOLATE CARAMEL BARS 
1 pkg. (14 oz.) caramels
1/3 c. evaporated milk
1 (18 oz.) German chocolate cake mix
1 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. butter (melted)
1 c. chopped nuts
1/3 c. evaporated milk

Melt together in double boiler (or microwave on 75% power) the caramels and 1/3 cup milk. Mix together cake mix, butter (melted), 1/3 cup milk and nuts. Press 1/2 of dough in greased 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes. sprinkle chocolate chips on baked dough. Spread on caramel mixture and put rest of dough on top. Bake 15 to 18 minutes more at 350 degrees. Cool, cut, and refrigerate.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
