PEPPERMINT ICE CREAM 
2-quart ice cream maker
1 box shelf milk
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. peppermint extract
1/8 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. crushed peppermint candy
1 tsp. red food coloring

Pour shelf milk into cream can; add sugar, extract, and food coloring. Stir thoroughly with wooden spoon. Process according to ice cream maker's directions. After processing, but before hardening, blend in peppermint candy. Pour into container and place in freezer.
