HAMBURGER FRENCH LOAF | |
1 1/2 lb. ground chuck 1 egg, slightly beaten 12 crackers, crushed 1/2 lb. grated cheese (any kind you like) 1 sm. can evaporated milk 1 loaf French or Italian bread Mix meat, egg and crackers well. Add 4 tablespoons of the grated cheese and mix well. Salt and pepper to taste. Add evaporated milk and mix well. Cut bread in half lengthwise. Scoop out center of bread (like a canoe). Fill each half with meat mixture. Lay loaves on foil. Wrap foil around everything except meat. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Remove from oven and turn back foil. Put remaining cheese over all and put back in oven until cheese melts. Remove from oven and slice. |
