VALENTINE OATMEAL COOKIES | |
2 1/2 c. sifted flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 c. butter, soft 3/4 c. sugar 2 tbsp. milk 1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. Mother's Oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked) Sift flour, baking powder and salt into bowl. Add butter, sugar, milk, egg and vanilla. Beat until well blended, about 2 minutes. Stir in rolled oats. Roll out on lightly floured board or canvas to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into heart shapes (or whatever shape you wish). Bake on greased cookie sheets in moderate oven (375 degrees) for about 15 minutes. Decorate with tinted confectioners' sugar frosting. Makes 3 1/2 dozen. |
