TURTLE CREEK PIE | |
3 eggs 1 c. granulated sugar 1 c. dark corn syrup 2 tbsp. melted butter 1 tsp. vanilla 9" unbaked pie shell 4 c. Granny Smith apples, peeled & sliced 1/2 c. pecans or walnut pieces 4 oz. raisins, optional In large bowl mix eggs and sugar. Add corn syrup, butter and vanilla. Set aside. In pie shell place half apple slices overlapping in layer. Over this, arrange second layer of apples with slices in opposite direction. Slowly pour pie filling over apples. Add nuts and raisins around edge of apples. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes. Pie is done when knife inserted between center and edge comes out clean. |
