PEPPER RELISH (AMAZING!!!) | |
This relish has an amazing tangy, peppery bouquet that revolutionizes any sandwich. Adding the fresh chili paste (which can be purchased at most Chinese restaurants) adds heat to what would otherwise not be a "hot" relish. Add as much as you prefer, and substitute "SRIRACHA" sauce if you can't find chili paste. 1 (16 oz.) jar "MEZZETTA" Brand Sweet Cherry Peppers 1/2 tsp. chili paste (or Sriracha sauce) Remove the stems from all the peppers. Blend all the peppers for one minute in a blender (add a little of the juice from the jar to help the paste flow more easily). Pour (or spatula) the relish into a small (approx. 10 oz.) jar that can be kept in the refrigerator. Add a 1/2 teaspoon (or more, if desired) of the chili paste and mix together. Taste after each addition to see how hot you want it. Serve by spreading on sandwiches or hotdogs. Submitted by: Gary B. |
