GOOSEBERRY PIE 
2 c. gooseberries
1 1/2 c. sugar (or less)
1/8 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. cornstarch
Pastry for 2 crust pie

Heat gooseberries and sugar. Add soda and cornstarch in a little water. When heated, add 2 tablespoons butter and a dash or two of nutmeg. Put in crust and bake at 425 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes, or until crust is golden.
