“REALLY SIMPLE CHICKEN CORDON BLEU” IS IN:

REALLY SIMPLE CHICKEN CORDON
BLEU

This dish is different in that the chicken is not pounded or rolled up. Skinless, boneless chicken breasts are recommended. However many you want or need. Use any type of Shake 'n Bake: Barbecue Glaze, Original, Extra Crispy, or Hot 'n Spicy (my favorite).

boneless skinless chicken breasts
ham
Swiss cheese
your choice of Shake 'n Bake

Preheat the oven to 400°F.

Coat the breasts with the Shake 'n Bake, and put them in the oven for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool somewhat.

Slice them in half, and add a slice or two of thin ham and a slice of Swiss cheese. Put the other half back on top. Return them to the oven for another 5 minutes or until cooked through (160°F).

Serve as-is or top them with your favorite gravy or sauce.

Enjoy!

This sounds really good...I'm going to try it. Also, I think you could just slice the uncooked chicken breast making a pocket out of it, fill it before cooking (maybe seal the edge with a toothpick, and bread it. That would eliminate it having to come back out of the oven for additional prep.

Thanks for the recipe!

Turned out amazing... But did have to cook it about 35 minutes total. I cooked it in a baking dish. Next time I'll try it on a cookie sheet and hopefully it will be quicker.

Is shake and bake necessary? Or can I use seasoned bread crumbs...
