TEA CAKES 
2 1/2 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter (1 stick)
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. buttermilk

Cream together butter, shortening, egg, vanilla and sugar. Combine flour, soda and salt. Add dry ingredients to other ingredients and buttermilk. Drop by teaspoonfuls on cookie sheet. Flatten with water glass dipped in sugar.
