APPLE CRISP BARS 
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
3/4 c. oil
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 c. chopped nuts
4 c. chopped apples

TOPPING:

1/2 c. brown sugar
3/4 tsp. cinnamon

Cream sugar, eggs and oil; add flour, soda and cinnamon. Mix well. Add nuts and apples. Pour into greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Sprinkle with topping. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour.

This is a very easy and simple foundation recipe. If you aren't familiar with baking apple crisp then I suggest you use this. Although, it's not really the "traditional" recipe. I'm also used to having Apple crisp with oats and lemon to keep the apples from browning, and plus I like the way the lemon tastes in it :). I used this recipe and added a those and a few more spices (plus I can't follow a recipe for the life of me). I just put mine in the oven and I am very pleased with how it's looking :)
