DANISH PASTRY APPLE BARS 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 c. Crisco
1 egg yolk
1 c. crushed corn flakes
3/4 to 1 c. sugar
8-10 tart green apples
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg white
1 c. confectioners' sugar
3-4 tsp. milk

Mix flour and salt, cut in shortening. Beat egg yolk and 2/3 cup water, mix well. Stir in flour. Form into ball, cut in half. Roll out to fit 9x13 inch pan. Sprinkle with crushed corn flakes, top with sliced apples, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.

Roll remaining dough, place on top. Seal edges. Cut slits on top. Beat egg whites until foamy, brush on crust. Bake at 375 degrees for 40-45 minutes.

Mix confectioners' sugar and milk for drizzle.
