APPLE WALNUT PASTRY 
1 egg
2/3 c. sugar
2 tbsp. (heaping) flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 med. apple, chopped or grated

Beat egg; add sugar, beating until well mixed. Add flour and baking powder; mixing well. Stir in vanilla; fold in walnuts and apple. Place in a 7 x 9 inch shallow pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream if desired. Yield: 6 servings. May be frozen.
