1 1/2 c. soft shortening
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. applesauce
4 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
Chocolate chips

Mix all ingredients and drop by teaspoonful on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
