APPLE MACAROON DESSERT 
4 c. apples, peeled & sliced
1/2 c. or more sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. pecans, chopped
1/2 c. coconut
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
3/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Sweetened whipped cream

Arrange apples in a 9 inch pie plate. Combine 1/2 cup sugar with cinnamon; sprinkle over apples. Top with pecans and coconut. Cream butter until fluffy. Gradually beat in remaining 1/2 cup sugar. Add egg, flour and vanilla; mix well. Spread over apple mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until top is golden brown. Serve warm or cold with whipped cream. Makes 8 servings.
