DATE NUT PIE 
2 c. sugar
6 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
3 tbsp. flour
1 stick butter
1 c. nuts, chopped
1 c. dates, chopped fine
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugar and 4 whole eggs plus yolk of the other two eggs. Save whites of the eggs for meringue. Add flour and stir in buttermilk. Bring to boil and add dates. Cook, stirring constantly until smooth and thick. Continue beating until dates have been dissolved. Stir in butter, nuts and vanilla. Spoon into deep pie shell. Cover with meringue and brown in 350 degree oven.
