DATE CREAM PIE 
1 tbsp. flour
2 to 3 c. sugar
12 dates, finely chopped
1 c. thin cream
2 egg yolks, well beaten

Mix flour with sugar. Combine with dates and cream. Cook over direct heat, simmering 3 to 5 minutes with constant stirring. Add egg yolks and cook one minute longer. Pour into a previously baked shell and cover with meringue.

MERINGUE:

2 egg whites
4 tbsp. sugar
Few grains salt
1 tsp. lemon extract

Mix ingredients together and put on pie. Brown in slow oven (350 degrees) and watch carefully while meringue browns.
