DATE CHIFFON PIE | |
Toast 2-4 teaspoons sesame seeds in pie pan, 450 degrees, for 2 minutes. Cool and add these to your crust when making. Soften 1 envelope (1 tablespoon) Knox gelatin in 1/4 cup cold water. Beat together: 3 egg yolks 1/4 c. sugar 1/4 tsp. salt Beat together in top of double boiler until blended. Cook over hot water stirring until mixture coats a spoon. Add softened gelatin. Stir until dissolved. Chill, stirring occasionally, until partially set. Stir in: 1 c. dates, cut 3/4 c. whipping cream, beaten thick Beat 2 egg whites until stiff and add to mix. Chill 1 hour. Sprinkle with nutmeg. |
